Hunting for candy on Halloween is so much fun; dealing with the sugar-rush meltdowns and cavities of your young one, not so much. That's why we love Dr. Lesley Rudolph's idea for leftover Halloween candy: trade it in for prizes! Dr. Lesley knows parting little fingers from yummy candy is not an easy task; that's why she is giving each child a Firefly toothbrush and a prize from her treasure box for their generosity!

Here is how it works. Any child up to age 12 can bring his/her leftover Halloween Candy (minimum 1 pound) to South Tampa Pediatric Dentistry (3702 W. Swann Avenue) on Thursday, November 5th from 2:00-5:00 PM and trade it in. In addition to earning a Firefly toothbrush and a prize, for every pound of candy turned in, each child will get a raffle ticket to enter towards winning the following prizes:

•An electric Sonicare for Kids toothbrush
•A gift certificate for a complimentary mini photo session and gift print with Andi Diamond Photography in her South Tampa studio
•A $75 gift certificate to Stroller Strides
•A gift certificate for 1 month of classes at South Tampa Gymboree ($114 value)

So what will Dr. Lesley do with all that candy? She will be shipping it off to Iraq and Afghanistan for the troops to enjoy in moderation and as long as they promise to brush and floss afterward! Just to be sure, she will also be sending them toothbrushes and toothpaste donated by Colgate.
South Tampa Pediatric Dentistry will also be accepting donations of gently worn Halloween costumes, which they will pass along to a local charity.

We hope to see all of you there after Halloween!
