Metropolitan Ministries
Boxes of Hope, Bags of Joy
Metropolitan Ministries is already expecting a food shortage this year in trying to feed the mouths of the hungry in the Tampa Bay area this holiday season. Additionally, there is a need for toys and gifts for children for Christmas.
How to Help
Boxes of Hope is a program where a box is compiled with specific items (think 1 can of fruit, box of stuffing mix, can of cranberry sauce, etc.) which equals a full holiday meal for a family of four. Bags of Joy provides toys and stocking stuffers for children by providing items such as baby dolls, preschool play sets, sports equipment, radios, play and building sets and more. You can individually donate any of these items by visiting the drop-off location of Metro Min at 2002 N. Florida Avenue (especially needed in December are infant items). Help even more by arranging for an organization (child’s preschool, place of employment, faith based group) to be involved in Boxes of Hope or Bags of Joy. Just call 813.209.1034, and see how it easy it is to arrange a drive and give back. Or visit www.metromin.org.
